Kimball’s heritage is built on a culture of caring that is engrained in everything we do. This culture extends beyond what we make and how we make it to specific initiatives that support our customers, communities and our world. One such initiative, Live Life Nice is a start-up company that was developed by an entrepreneur in the Sixers Innovation Lab crafted by Kimball. Live Life Nice is a cause driven company that is dedicated to empowering, motivating and inspiring people to be nice and to do nice. Live Life Nice is a social movement embarking on a quest to infuse and highlight positive news into our society.
Kimball joined the Live Life Nice movement by featuring a maker station in our Chicago showroom during the industry’s largest contract furniture show in June, where attendees had the opportunity to create custom, hand stamped dog tag necklaces. For every dog-tag, Kimball donated $1 to K9S 4 Dog tags. K9’s 4 Dogtags, a non-for-profit organization located in Indianapolis, IN. K9’s 4 Dogtags provides service dogs rescued and retrained from shelters, to soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Christina Smith, the founder and owner of K9’s 4 Dogtags rescues, trains and pairs shelter dogs with veterans at no expense to them or their family.
On September 6th Kimball presented K9’s 4 Dog tags a check for $5000 as a result of this initiative to help support the financial burden it takes to run their nonprofit.
Owner Christian Smith said, “In our mission, we are truly saving two lives at once; the veteran and the shelter animal. The Live Life Nice initiative shows that by being nice, you can take your focus off your issues and put your attention towards someone else and what they may dealing with. By Kimball supporting Live Life Nice and K9’s 4 Dogtags, they are showing as a company, they embrace the spirit of giving back and we are fortunate to be partnering with a company that has doing nice engrained in their culture.”
