Preben Mehren is a Norwegian designer, entrepreneur and co-founder of Objekt, which integrates commercial products with sustainability and social values for everyday applications.
Preben was born in 1976 into the family’s furniture business, Sandella, which is North Europe’s largest independent moulded foam company with plants in Norway, Sweden and Lithuania. Preben attended Norwegian Marketing College to hone his skills for the design field. Formally entering the contract design industry in 2002, he evolved his design process by combining metal inserts with foam to create sculptural elements which is reflected in the Chip chair.
In 2018, Mehren founded the furniture brand company, Objekt (www.objekt.as) with two industry veterans as co-partners. Objekt is a lifestyle brand that produces ,“Everyday objects, for everyday use. – Home and Work".
